SWEET CHANCE

A SUPERB COMEDY ROUTINE by ROY MARSH

Good audience participation magic is hard to find.
This is one of the best.

Six large brightly coloured and numbered metallic envelopes are shown. The magician declares that he will win the Kit Kat. Five envelopes are chosen by members of the audience leaving the magician with one.

The envelopes are opened and different chocolate bars are won. But, horror, the spectator holding envelope number 6 has won the Kit Kat! The magician has failed.

But what is in the envelope left to the magician? It’s a chunky Kit Kat wrapped in a £20 note!

CRAFTY CRAWLER

A CREEPY COMEDY CARD TRICK by JACK DELVIN

A few cards are taken from the pack and laid out at random on the table. One of the cards is selected, also at random, by a member of the audience. Only they know the name of the selected card.

The magician introduces Crafty Crawler, a handsome four inch long caterpillar. The cards are thoroughly mixed-up and laid out face down in a line. No one can know where the selected card lies in the line, least of all Crafty Crawler.

Crafty Crawler is wound-up and set going from the bottom of the line. He sniffs at each card as he goes, finally stopping on one card. This is turned over and seen to be the chosen card – Crafty Crawler triumphs again!

DOUBLE YOUR MONEY by ERIC BAILEY

Magic with money is always cool, especially on the street!

The magician shows a small black paddle encircled with three elastic bands.
A spectator is asked to bet 20p. A question is asked. If they get the answer right they ‘double their money’. The paddle is shown empty on both sides and the 20p is slipped under the top elastic band.

A very simple question is asked, which the spectator duly answers correctly. The paddle is turned over and a second 20p is now seen to have appeared under the elastic band at the rear of the paddle. They have doubled their money. This is repeated twice more so that the spectator’s 3 20p’s have doubled into 6. All six coins are removed from the paddle.

Three of the coins are returned to the paddle and the Jackpot question asked. The spectator fails to answer the question correctly. The magician flicks the paddle and a £20 note appears.

The spectator gets their 3 x 20p’s back but the magician wins the Jackpot Prize!

BEYOND BELIEF by JACK DELVIN

A deck of cards is spread to show a normal complete deck of 52 cards. The performer gives them a shuffle and shows them thoroughly mixed. The cards are spread face down and a spectator freely selects a card, looks at it, and shows it to friends. The spectator places this card on top of the deck and cuts the cards bringing the chosen card to an unknown position in the deck. The cards are then cut by the spectator at varying depths, several times, so that no one can possibly know where the chosen card lies. Despite this, the magician is able to say exactly where in the deck the chosen card has ended up!

It is worth noting that, to all intents and purposes, it is a normal deck. The card is freely chosen. The spectator does all the cutting of the cards wherever desired. Once the card has been lost in the deck the cards remain face downwards throughout the effect.

BEYOND BELIEF by JACK DELVIN £12.50

ESP CHOICE

You openly show a pack of 25 cards consisting of five sets of five ESP symbols.
You lay out a row of pairs of cards on a table. A spectator places three lucky stones on any three pairs of cards of their choice.

You now have a row of pairs of cards with stones on top of three of the pairs.
You turn over each of the pairs of cards leaving the chosen pairs till last. Each pair of cards shows differing symbols except the chosen pairs which show matching symbols, thus proving the spectator is truly psychic!

Practically works itself. Has a truly amazing effect on any audience.

GHOST COIN

The performer opens a matchbox and removes four matches. The matches are placed down on a table to form a square. A 2p coin is shown and placed inside the square.

The performer then places a playing card on top of the square of matches trapping the coin inside. To make things even more secure the closed matchbox is now placed on top of the card and therefore over the coin.

The performer takes out a match to act as a magic wand. The wand is waved over the set-up and, on the box and card being removed, it is seen that the coin has completely dematerialized – just like a ghost!

COIN IN RUSSIAN DOLLS

Making a coin, or ring, disappear and re-appear inside the middle box of a nest of three is of course a classical trick.

To make it more suitable for children’s shows we suggest you use a nest of colourful Russian dolls.

The nest of dolls we supply are beautifully decorated in traditional Russian style and the largest doll is six inches, 15 cms, tall.

TAROT CHOICE

Four Tarot cards are removed from an envelope and placed face upwards in a row. A spectator is given a lucky charm to hold and is asked to move it to and fro over the cards and, finally, to drop it onto whichever card they fancy.

The performer miraculously reveals that the chosen card is the very one that has been predicted!

A CLEAR CASE OF CHANCE

Three envelopes are shown and placed separately in a line on a clear Perspex tray – held in place by a band of elastic. The performer explains that one of the envelopes contains a valuable prize. Two members of the audience are each allowed to select an envelope. They may change their minds if they wish providing great scope for comedy. Eventually they are happy with their selections – leaving one envelope on the tray.

The spectators open their envelopes. From one a message is taken which reads “Better luck next time”. From the other a message that states “Sorry you’ve been troubled”. On opening the third envelope, the one rejected by the spectators, the performer withdraws a fifty pound note.

A super and easy way of performing a great traditional effect

TAROT COUNTDOWN

You show two packets of thirteen similar Tarot cards. You mix-up one of the packets.

You then give a spectator the opportunity to choose either of the two packets for them to jumble up, which they do.

Next you place the two completely mixed-up packets of 13 cards side by side face downwards. The top card from each packet is turned over and seen, in some inexplicable way, to match!

You continue to turn the cards over and, to the utter amazement of the audience, it is seen that all the cards match!

A wonderful secret. It simply works itself.
